These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been given an antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds.
This 18" doll is dressed in an antiqued brown, russet, tan, and blue ticking fabric. A brown satin ribbon is tied about her bust. Her neckline is edged with lace. Her hair is painted sable blonde and is sculpted into curl clusters around her face. She wears a lined removable bonnet made of straw and trimmed in brown satin ribbon, ivory lace and tassels It should be left untied with the ribbon free flowing to show off her dangling gold washed bead earrings. She also wears a chain and pendant featuring a faux blue gem that compliments her dress. She carries a tan satin reticule (purse) embellished with ecru lace and tassels. Her eyes are painted a light brown with added detailing.
