These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been given an antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds.
This 18" doll is dressed in an antiqued olive green floral fabric. A green satin ribbon is tied about her bust. Her neckline is edged with satin ribbon and double edged lace. Her hair is painted black with waves around her face. She wears a lined removable bonnet made of straw and trimmed in green satin ribbon, ivory vine lace. It can be left untied with the ribbon free flowing to show off her dangling faux pearl earrings, or loosely tied under her chin. She carries a tan satin reticule (purse) embellished with ecru vine lace and green ribbon. Her eyes are painted a light brown with added detailing.
