These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been given an antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds. Not a toy.
This 18" "Jane" doll is dressed in an antiqued blue and white checked gown with a lace fichu. A lace fichu is wrapped around her shoulders and gathered at the bust with a scarf ring at her bust. Her sculpted hair is painted brown and features a wide curl cluster atop her head. A lace and ribbon caplet crown her head. Her eyes are painted blue and detailed.
This set includes a wooden writing board, a leather portfolio, 4 sheets of antiqued papers, feather quills, and a beautiful footed glass and metal writing set. All pieces are antiqued.
