These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been given an antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. Dress cannot be removed. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds. Not a toy.

All pieces are handmade by the artist. Lovey is an 18" tall doll. Her head is sculpted from clay and topped with a lace and ribbon bonnet featuring a handmade, painted, cut, and molded paper flower and foliage garland. Flower centers are studded with tiny glass seed pearls. The back of the bonnet is finished with layered ribbon and permanently affixed to her head.

Her antiqued muslin gown features a fully handmade, painted, cut, and molded paper flower cluster cascading asymmetrically dwindling into leaves and petals. The flower centers are studded with glass seed pearls. A moss green ribbon is tied about her bust and tied in a bow in the back.

In her hand holds a removable paper fan with ornate paper lacework decoupage. The metal fan handle is attached to thick twine with a tassel. It is fixed in an open position.
