These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been given an antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds. This is an art doll. Not a toy.
 
This 23" doll is made a bit different than our other dolls which makes her especially unique! Her head and face have extra sculpted features and feature a sealed matte finish which adds emphasis to her glossy eyes and lips. She is dressed in an antiqued muslin gown with a crochet lace neckline. An ecruantiqued blue satin ribbon is tied about her bust. Her sculpted hair is painted brown and styled in a curly updo with spin curls falling from both sides of her head. Her eyes are glossy and black pupil-less giving the appearance of traditional glass inset eyes.

The smaller 6" doll is constucted similar to a Queen Anne style doll with a clay body with articulated hips and shoulders. Her face is painted in the traditional 18th century style with dotted brows and glossy inset eyes. Her dress is made of pink silk with a silk and Venetian lace stomacher. Her painted on shoes are tan.
