These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. The primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been treated to a stained and antiqued finish. Hands and feet are attached with ecru ribbon, the upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted using no molds. This is an art doll and cannot be undressed.
 
All pieces of this set are antiqued and aged. This 18" doll is dressed in a light cotton muslin with a satin tan ribbon tied about her waist. Her hair features painted curls surrounding her face.
 
She wears a fixed muslin headwrap that features a handmade frontpiece made to give the appearance of embedded  turquoise and cinnabar surronding a crowned skull. She wears a strand of colorful glass beads and a pair of golden hoop earrings. Her hand is sculpted in a fashion so that objects may be put in it for display, golden bangles decorate her wrists and a ring with a red stone is present on her hand.
 
Her fabric -lined basket is stuffed with all the mystical tools needed for love spells and curse removal. They include: an assortment of 3 small glass stoppered bottles of crushed herbs (non toxic edible spices), a set of 22 Tarot cards, 3 voodoo dolls, a bundle of multi-colored candles, a corked glass jar of various crystals and semi precious stones, an intricate terra cotta urn, 3 string tied cloth bags, a blue glass bottle with stopper (as seen hanging from New Orleans trees to trap spirits), and a brightly painted feather fetish.
