These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been treated to a stained and antiqued finish.  The upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted.

This 18" doll is dressed in an antiqued blue and ecru floral fabric with a cadet blue satin ribbon tied about her bust. Crochet lace edges her neckline. Her sculpted hair is painted blonde with a twist braid across the top of her head with painted curls surrounding her face. She wears a removable straw bonnet embellished with simple crochet lace and tiny satin ribbons on each side and a pleated lace lining.  A wide tan ribbon secures it to het head. Her brown eyes are detailed.

Her hands are molded in a fashion where she holds one of the clay bodied dolls on which she is sewing. A faux needle and thread are attached and may be positioned in her hands.

Included, is a blue wooden trunk finished in an antique patina. It is filled with four tiny dolls she has completed. All are looped wire jointed at the shoulders and hips and can be gently posed. the tiny dolls measure between 1 5/8" to 2 1/8" tall. There is a total of six dolls in this set.
