These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been treated to a stained and antiqued finish. Hands are attached with ribbon and feet are attached with ecru ribbon. The upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted. This is an art doll and all clothing is permanently attached. Not a toy.
 
  This 18" tall doll wears a dress of antiqued tan, green, and brown plaid with a brown satin ribbon tied about her bust. Cotton pom pom trim is featured at the neckline. A lace wrap with braid trim surrounds her shoulders and  embellished with a hand painted brooch of gold and green. Her sculpted hair is painted brown and styled into a curl clusters around her face. She wears dangling gold-washed glass bead earrings. Her eyes are painted brown.

She wears a straw bonnet with wide decorative scrollwork.. The ties are moss green satin ribbon. Her hands are trimmed with lace braid and painted to give the appearance of wearing gloves.
