These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been treated to a stained and antiqued finish. Hands are attached with ribbon and feet are attached with ecru ribbon. The upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted.
 
  This 18" tall doll wears a gown of navy, light blue and ecru floral fabric with a navy satin ribbon tied about her bust, and cotton lace trim at the neckline. Her brown painted hair is sculpted intospin curls on both sides of her head falling from clusters of paper roses and satin foliage. Around her neck hangs a painted chain with a pandant featuring a delft blue rose. Her eyes are painted blue.
