  These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been treated to a stained and antiqued finish. Hands are attached with ribbon and feet are attached with ecru ribbon. The upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted.

 

  This 18" tall doll wears a dress of antiqued blue and ecri gingham with a blue satin ribbon tied about her bust. Crochet lace trim is featured at the neckline. A cotton crochet fringed fishu is wrapped around her shoulders embellished with a hand painted brooch. Her sculpted hair is painted blonde and styled into a curl cluster atop her head and painted curls surrounding her face. She wears dangling blue ceramic bead earrings. Her eyes are painted blue.

She wears a straw bonnet with a band of tan satin braid. A cluster of   hand dyed paper roses and satin foliage embellished one side of the bonnet. The ties are tan satin. Her hands are trimmed with lace braid and painted to give the appearance of wearing gloves.
