These reproductions are inspired by dolls found in European and American households in the early 1800's. Head, hands and feet are constructed of a durable composition clay. the primitive body is made of muslin. The entire doll has been treated to a stained and antiqued finish. Hands are attached with ribbon and feet are attached with ecru ribbon. The upper arms are stuffed and attached to the dress separately. All clay parts on the doll are hand sculpted.
 
  This 18" tall doll wears a gown of floral blue fabric with a ecru satin ribbon tied about her bust. Crochet lace edges her neckline. Her painted blonde hair is sculpted into a curl cluster atop her head and sping curls falling fron each side. A lacy crochet cotton ruffle is ties around her head. Beautiful light brown eyes are painted to give the appearance of looking down. She wears dangling earrings made of blue ceramic beads. Her hands are sculpted so she holds a faux needle and thread while holding one of the tiny dolls.

At her side sits a rich brown wooden trunk filled with dolls she has completed. Four ladies and one gentleman stand ready to be selected by shoppers. All are looped wire jointed at the shoulders and hips and can be gently posed. the tiny dolls measure about 2" tall. There is a total of six dolls in this set.
